BEAMS

Solid wood beams.

TIMBER STRUCTURES / WOOD BEAMS

Structure that stays on view.

A wood beam works and shows: it carries the roof or floor and, at the same time, defines the character of the space. We choose the species and section with the structural design, and take care of the finish and the junctions with walls and ceilings.

We made the tzalam beams for Estudio Iturbide in Mexico City, with Taller Mauricio Rocha; the beams for Centro Cultural San Pablo in Oaxaca; and the beams at Campante and Hotel Boutique El Callejón.

HOW WE MAKE THEM

Species, section and finish.

  • Hard, durable species such as tzalam or zapote, depending on load and exposure.
  • Sections defined with the structural design.
  • Joints and bearings resolved with the construction.
  • Finish and protection for indoor or outdoor use.
  • Transport and installation by our own team.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Wood beams

Do you sell loose beams?

We make beams to each project’s measure and usually install them with our own team. We don’t sell lumber by the length like a sawmill.

Which wood is best for beams?

For beams we usually use tzalam or zapote, hard and durable woods. Species and section are defined with the structural design.

YOUR STRUCTURE

Does your project have wood beams?

Send us the drawing or the list of beams with sizes, the site location and the date. We’ll give you a ballpark before a detailed quote.
